six cool, freaky, scary music videos
Not in any particular order, thought we’d share a list of six slightly freaky music videos which although pretty damn cool are a little on the freaky/scary side…kind of horizon-expanding though, so sit back and enjoy!
Warning: none are that graphic but it may be best not to watch if you are either a kid or of a sensitive nature… well, we did warn you ;)
1: Prodigy - Smack my bitch up
Banned from TV, this offering from the prodigy has since won various awards as everyone finally realised that it was in fact, an insightful work of artistic genius on the part of the director. Make sure you watch until the end, when the whole point becomes clear!
2: Aphex Twin - Come to daddy
Just downright creepy and freaky, thats all you can say about this sinister offering from richard james, aka the Aphex Twin. Generally thought of to be the daddy of all scary videos, it has everything, all set to an industrial techno track so hard it’ll probably make your ears bleed as you hide behind the sofa.
3: Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
Another entry for the Aphex Twin, this time not for the fact its scary, but really freaky and directed by the legendary Chris Cunningham. Shot like a hollywood movie it lasts for some ten minutes, and does contain very strong language - be warned! Slightly more gentle on the ears than Come to Daddy though :)
4: Unkle - Rabbit in the headlights
Probably one of the greatest videos ever produced, a pretty depressing sort of song and a pretty disturbing video…this may leave mental scars! A must watch though.
5: The Horrors - Sheena is a parasite
Really cool song from punky group The Horrors, fairly freaky video! Another Chris Cunnigham masterpiece. Love it.
6: Squarepusher - Come on my selector
Directed by Chris Cunningham of Aphex twin ‘Windowlicker’ fame, another edgy, trippy video for Sqaurepushers drum and bass track. Like most of his work, another mini-movie journey where the track almost becomes secondary.
